Prior to beginning his career in public accounting, Steve was the Secretary-Treasurer for a light equipment manufacturer, and the Budgetary Control Officer for the Vice-President of Student Affairs, University of Southern California. Steve worked for Coopers & Lybrand for over two years before joining Nasif, Hicks, Harris & Co. in 1979.
As the Attestation Partner for the firm, Steve oversees the planning, fieldwork, and overall conduct of audit and review engagements. Additionally, Steve is actively involved with large, complex corporate tax returns and individual tax returns.
Some of Steve's significant work experience includes:
- Manager of audits of the County of Santa Barbara
- Partner in charge of the audits of the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments
- Consulting partner for separate audit engagements for the City of Santa Barbara and the County of Santa Barbara
- Partner in charge of a third party insurance administrator concern with annual revenues of approximately $30 million
- Litigation support specialist for a large construction contractor concern
- Steve has a Bachelor of Arts, University of California at Santa Barbara, a Master of Business Administration, University of Southern California and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Steve has received specialized training in Computerized Audit Assistance and is a member of the EDP Auditors Association, Inc.
